In the realm of non-verbal expressions, mudras offer a profound way to connect with our subconscious mind and unleash our hidden potentials and desires. Among these empowering hand gestures, the Surabhi Mudra stands out as a catalyst for powerful and transformative change.
By focusing on the fingers of the Surabhi Mudra we can quiet the mind and reduce the multitude of thoughts, allowing one specific desire to take root in our hearts. With unwavering attention, we can channel our energy toward manifesting that desire.
In practicing this myself, I have noticing that whatever may be in your path to manifesting your desires will come up immediately either emotionally or in your actual life forcing you to face it and overcome it. Clearing the path for your manifestation. I would recommend to only use this if you are ready for a very powerful experience.Â
To practice the Surabhi Mudra, follow these steps:
- Find a comfortable and relaxed meditative posture.
- Bring your hands to your chest, with palms facing each other in a namaste position.
- Move the middle finger of your right hand towards the index finger of your left hand, gently touch them at the tips.
- Then, bring your right index finger to the middle of your left finger.
- Next, touch the tip of your left ring finger with your right little finger.
- Move your left little finger towards your right ring finger.
- Adjust your fingers so they touch properly, there should be space between all the finger tips. Your thumbs should point upward towards the sky.
- Chanting the Gayathri mantra while holding this mudra can enhance its effectiveness but is not necessary.
- Mastering the finger arrangement of Surabhi Mudra may require practice. You can make it more relaxing by opening or closing your fist or expanding and contracting your fingers, allowing them to find a comfortable position.
The benefits of practicing Surabhi Mudra:
- Balancing the five elements: Surabhi Mudra incorporates all five elements, harmonizing both the elements within the mudra and the hormonal system of the body.
- Boosting creativity and positive energy: Regular practice of this mudra amplifies creativity and positive energy, enabling quicker fulfillment of desires.
- Third-eye activation: Surabhi Mudra directly influences the third-eye chakra, leading to improved memory and concentration.
- Alleviating digestive issues: By affecting the naval chakra, this mudra is beneficial for those suffering from constipation and ulcers, promoting vitality and balancing the energy of this chakra.
- Promoting excretory system health: Surabhi Mudra activates the excretory systems, making it useful for alleviating acidity and gas-related problems.
Consider these precautions before practicing consistently:
- Imbalances in the five elements: Incorrect practice of Surabhi Mudra can lead to imbalances in the five elements. Start slowly and gradually increase the duration to avoid any adverse effects.
- Thumb placement: Ensure that your thumbs do not touch each other or the roots of your fingers to maximize the potential benefits of this mudra.
- Initial coordination challenges: Holding the mudra for longer periods may be challenging at first, but with practice, you will develop better coordination.
How long should you practice?
- The best time to practice is in the morning as soon as you wake up. If that will take some getting used to, then you can practice at any time of day at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after eating food. A full stomach makes it hard to breath properly, and it is good to give time after a session to absorb the effects before eating.
- Start by practicing 1 minute a day and build up slowly. Monitor how you are feeling over 7 days and see if you would like to build up to 20 minutes per day for the full practice.Â
